When I was Stationed at Ft Riley with the Army,...I used to sit on the sunken bridge in the back of Farnum Creek at night,...I would hang my 3 propane Lanterns off the railings and fish jigs tipped with minnows,....it was some of the fasted paced bites I've ever experienced in Kansas. By the time you pull one rod in with a nice Slab and look up,...your other 2 rods would be bent over with a fish. The lights gather all of the scattered fish right to you. I went through 6 Dz minnows in 4 hours one night,...Kid you not. I'll be hitting it up Sunday Eve,....any and all are welcome to join me,...I have 3 lanterns already,...just grab you some minnows and a camp chair to sit in. Here are some pics from a few night trips of mine while Stationed there in the Army with 5-4 Cav. Milford has some amazing Crappie fishing,....just with the Ultra Clear Water it has at times,...they can be a real challenge, but well worth the chase.

The picture with the dog in it, the crappie look like the spawn was on, and they appear ready to explode. Healthy and very fat! Nice.

Milford has some quality fish,...can be a pain at times though..But they fall for the lanterns every time,....during the Spawn...that is a great place to sit for a while a few nights. After I break my camp down on Sunday after the Crappie Camp on May 22,...Ill be over there that Night for a while. its a blast and very fast paced.
