Weird looking clouds
I've been fishing the docks at Clinton lately and having some success but one thing that has been surprising is how many black-nosed crappie are being caught. Of 20 black crappie caught more than half were black-nose....I've seen a couple caught at Hillsdale but I had never caught one myself.....I know Craig has said the black-nose is not a cross between a black and white crappie but a defect in the gene but then I also heard they can be raised and are good to put in ponds and small bodies of water because they don't over populate....don't know if this is true but there's a big population of em at Clinton. strange looking skies baked crappie is on the menu

Weird looking clouds
thanks for the report! Dock fishing must be better than the lake fishing.
Cool looking cloud formation!

I see a couple black crappie in the pile, seemed to me all the blacks I caught over last couple years were small , glad to see them getting up to size. Nice catch Doug, hope they will still be there when I am able.
,
Never have caught a black out of Clinton, they must hang around the docks the majority of the time. Even when Ice fishing in the cove off the marina still haven't.
DKV I have caught them up in the river and in Rock Creek all were dinks.
Nice pictures and report. Black nose; interesting...
