    Default new member from wichita

My name is Alex and I am a new member. I live in Wichita and fish Eldorado a lot. I am on here looking for some help with crappie fishing. I have always been the type of guy to catch crappie in the spawn and then move on. I would like to learn more about crappie and how to locate them better in the other months and catch more crappie. Any advice for fall crappie or tricks on el dorado would be great! Thanks!

Welcome docker. I'm in the north eastern part of the state and have never fished El Dorado but I can tell you fall crappie can be similar to spawn crappie. They sometimes come in shallow in the back of creeks where the water may be a bit warmer than the main lake. There is also a consistent deep bite this time of year. I have the best luck on the deeper bite fising breaks in 12 to 20 fow. From what I've seen, they're still pretty spread out and not one particular depth is better than another. Shad is key this time of year as crappie are beginning to feed up for the winter. I'm sure some of the guys on here can help you with El dorado.

Welcome. It has been a strange year for crappie on Eldorado. I will pm you as time moves on about where they "might be". Good luck and drive safe if you head up north by boat.

Welcome docker. Locating crappie when they are not spawning usually takes electronics... What fish finders do you run?
Crappie at ElDorado have been less than good this year.

Welcome. If you really want to learn the lake and get ideals on how to fish El Dorado, you might want to call me. I run a guide service on El Dorado (Hook'Em Guide Service) and as most will tell you, one trip will save you time and money as El Dorado is a great crappie lake if you know how and where to fish.
