    Default Perry 8/7

Went to perry this afternoon to troll cranks. We trolled bandit 300s and 200s. 300s produced more fish as they were holding around 12 feet in 20 to 30 fow. We fished all over the lake but main lake flats were the most productive. Color didn't matter. We were using 6 different colors and each one caught fish about the same as the others. We also picked up a couple channels and lots of white bass. Not many keepers but they were biting really good today.

Was out there today as well. Jigged tubes and BG baby shad in 15-22 fow. Areas with bait balls and brush present were better. Crappies would be absolutely stacked in a couple areas, but would not cooperate. Once one bit, the group would fire up for a short period, then shut down again. Switching colors helped. Better keeper count than previous outing, but I wonder if minnows would yield bigger bites?? Also got into whites and channel cats which kept things interesting. Thanks for sharing.

I had been trolling jigs and minnows the previous 2 times out. We were catching 100 plus fish each time but not many keepers. I just figured I'd try a different approach. When we would find a school, we caught a fish almost every time and then turn around and go back through and pick up one or two more, but thats it. It didn't help having jet skis and big boats about run us over no matter where we were on the lake. I can't wait for 20 degree weather.

Any size to the white bass? Was there 2 weeks ago and only found small whites but only fished the dam end of the lake...maybe should have gone uplake?

Most of the white bass were in the 10 to 12 inch range. They were higher up in the water column. 4 to 8 foot range

Thanks! Average size seems smaller than this time last year. I usually just catch and release the white bass but kept a few last summer and after cutting out the red they were surpisingly good.

Whites were about the same size as what Sticky said.
