Except for a special paddlefish season, it is illegal to snag sport fish.

A sport fish is any fish that is NOT in this category;Carp, drum, white amur (grass carp), threadfin and gizzard shad, goldfish, gar, suckers (including carpsuckers and buffalo), eel, sturgeon, goldeye, bowfin & white perch


If you observe people snagging sport fish you need to call the Fish and Game folks and report it (877-426-3843).

Any fish not caught in the mouth have to be returned to water immediately
