    I caught it in Milford on a catfish rig.

    I am not sure but i have caught a lot of them. They may be in the Herring family?

    That there is a goldeneye good catfish bait! They can fight like crazy too.

    Agree. That is a pretty good size one too. The state record is just over 2 lbs. Sadly, I cut one up that eclipsed that mark before knowing the record. LOL.

    My uncle called them skipjack or golden eye. Always caught right after ice out. Catfish bait or garden fertilizer.

    I about lost a jig rod to one of them suckers walleye fishing last year at Milford. They do make good cutbait too.
