    Default lacygne 12/14/12

woke up late and headed to the power plant. Got there at 11 am

castnet for shad and hit about fifty good sized and threw it in the livewell. realized later I caught a school of baby crappie. I guess that's the only way I can catch crappie there.

go to the hot water outlet and primarily went for catfish and.white bass. caught about ten large mouth bass but all under size so they went back. first large catfish I got it to surface then out of no where it snapped my 30 pound braid. bad start. hour later hook onto another good sized cat and made sure I landed him. about a ten to twelve pounder. ended up catching three.of those.... then landed a 21" wiper. was about to go home and saw my pole just bend. it was the smallest pole I had. ended up fighting the fish for aboht ten minutes to keep it from tangling in thr bouy line and breaking. landed about a thirty to forty pound flat head. went home after that

    will.upload picture later

I was glad when I found the crappie in the livewell that they were all still very alive and strong. definantly didnt want to kill baby crappie. crazy how many were swimming with the shad. put them back in the lake and watched all of them swim away.

I want to figure out the crappie there watching everyone fish no one really caught anything. the guys fishing ovrr the fence barely caught anythinf and every boat that came by jig fishing didnt seem to do very well at all. only a couple fish here and there

no. I look at the weather forecast and pick days that are not too windy. .the boat gets pushed around too much and the wakes waves sre too crazy for me. just let me know a day if you want to go and we can.meet up.

Nice catch. Never been much of catfisher, but that looks like a good fight.

live shad hooked on the back. they are about two to three inches long. sometimes I throw out a four to five inch shad but they have less hits in general.
