    Default Milford

Man, is it hot!! Hit up Milford today, was originally thinking about some catfishing after a stroll for some walleye. Stumbled on a sharp ledge with about a 3' drop so I dropped a spoon down. Dan,Dan the Minnowman was 1st to score with a 11" crappie on "The Fluke". I was right behind him with a 12" crappie on a 5/8 spoon. We just kept easing along the break until 150yds later it fell into the channel. We picked up everything but walleye and catfish. Typewriter back and picked up a few more keepers. Then we went the other way towards the other channel and found some "loaded" brush deep, all the way from 30' to 6' STACKED. We sat there for 5-6hrs pounding the dinks. About every 10th fish was a keeper was our ratio. Green/yellow or orange/green or green/glow mini tubes, panfish assassins, wassopahs, micro maggots, spoons, flukes and pull tabs, hook that sucker up and drop. If you missed one you had another before it got back down for a while. I hate this lake anymore, I really do, but action is action and a return trip is necessary. We could see the cartops when we put on, looked like a lot of shade over there. Nice day wind wise, not many fishing in our area. No count, just 3 qt bags fer the minnerman. Plenty of future fish for sure and we tossed plenty of keepers. I don't think we had any fish over 13", just plenty of 10"-12" crappies. I kept smelling bacon after lunch and realized it was me, frying! Go get 'em or I'm gonna Thumbs Up

Not that any one will say but was just wondering where the (car tops) are, also wondering where the (tower) was also. Fairly new to fishing this lake, only 3 times and just trying to figure out where some of these places are I hear about.

The location of the cartops is in one of the posts on that page.

The tower, theirs plenty of them, cellphone, water, radio. The main control tower is located on the end of the dam by the COE's office. The cartops are located at the "mouth" of Farnum Creek towards the E side, just out from the visible southern campground. Although it's hard to tell there is a hedgerow which used to run alongside of the gravel road before the lake was built. The cartops are located in line with it, but sshoosh, it's a secret.Rofl

There ain't a walleye in the world (or any fish for that matter) worth fighting the idiot boat traffic in that area! Ill stick to my little lakes and leave the big lakes to those important people that have absolutely no courtesy for those of us that fish!!

Nice job....spoons are an overlooked technique with some crappie fisherman...they can be great at times.
