We didn't have a contest, we just fished and had a great time. Don't know how many fish we caught total, but in my boat or I should say in Ron's boat, in 3 days of fishing, we caught 3 dinks, the rest were keepers

Default Thanks for a Great Event !

I want to thank everyone for the great time as well !! I enjoyed my buddies Ron Meeder and Rick HaleDamage in the trailer with me, and Lee and Doug (SlabbyJoe) I knew from the Melvern camp earlier this year, too. You're just ALL a good group of quality guys !! And it was a real pleasure to meet Ozark88 and Jason for the first time. Jason fished with me in my boat on Friday at his own peril in the ejection seat. (those who were there will get that joke !)

And the local hosts and sponsors were wonderful, especially appreciated ! There was an excellent frog leg dinner Friday evening in a reserved room at the Corner Bar just for Crappie.Com with other memorable fixin's like cucumber salad, potato salad, etc. and the hosts there made us feel right at home.

Mike and Marilyn at M'n'M Lodging were perfect hosts for our part of the crew, checking all the time making sure we had everything we needed, including a great dessert Marilyn made before we even got there. Mike from Lakeside Lodge, and Marty and Tom from the Little Bait Shop all came over for the fish fry Saturday evening. There was more food than the table could hold. Mike and Ozark88 manned the deep fryer with skill and precision. Tom supervised.

The Little Bait shop has the best most energetic minnows you ever saw, WOW, they ran around the bucket like little grandchildren even in the HEAT, and I bought two dozen and I swear they multiplied in the bucket !!

Those of you who didn't come, you really missed out ! There was over $300 worth of prizes from folks like Wayne's Sporting Good, Glen Elder Marina, Brock Garden Center, Lakeside Liquor, Little Bait Shop and Lakeside Lodge. If you go to the Glen Elder, be sure to stop in and say "Hi and thank you" to these folks for sponsoring the Crappie.Com event, and patronize them with your business, too !!

Even though I didn't catch a huge number of fish in my redneck boat, I did get one picture (thank you, Jason) of a really NICE one !

You might notice the party patio boat there in the background with Ron, HaleDamage and Ozark88 on board.
Glad y'all liked the entertainment. Next time I may just have to have some songs about all our Kansas crew characters on crappie.com !!
And I hope to bring others with me including my son-in-law me who also fishes and plays guitar with me.
I hope you all will bring somebody with you next time as well !
Let's hope to have at least twice as many next time !!!
    God Bless,
    Charlie365

Default A few videos from Crappie Camp 2012 at the Glen

For those of you who have never heard Charlie365 play the guitar I've posted a video of him from this last weekend in Cawker City. I was a little far away and recorded with my phone so you'll need to turn your computer up or maybe use some head phones.
Here is the link: charliesings - YouTube

The second video didn't turn out very well at all because some moron waited till after dark to do it. This was also done on my phone and it's very very dark, but the audio is good and should give you a pretty good idea of how much fun we all had...

Well I'd better put my 2 cents in here and say I had a really enjoyable time with crappie fishing buddies that I'd already made but also with a few more new friendly fishers Charlie365, Shawn-ozark88, and Jason, three nicer guys you couldn't find and Charlies singing sounds way better in person than what you hear on the video...I hope he comes back for every camp and more people show up. I know I've been reluctant to participate in these camps we've had but after I'm there it's always been a rewarding experience....good people, good food and oh yeah good fishing....so come on down next time and find out for yourself. Thank you to Mike & Marilyn for setting this up and making us all feel welcome and thanks to Tom & Marty for the good minnow counts and being up early for us and thanks to Mike & Sharon of Lakeside Lodging for Lee and my lodging and last but not least kudos to the CORNER BAR for the frog leg feast, great service and frosted beer mugs!! You all have probably noticed a name missing from this camp, Crappie Chatt, he had to cancel at the last moment and all we were told is that he needs our prayers so mine are going up for you and your family....he works hard to put the Glen Elder camp together and I know if there was anyway he could've made it he would have ...Gods speed to ya Chatt.
FAITH, FAMILY, FRIENDS & FISHING...... hopefully in that order but honestly, not always!
