Hey I used a slip float for the first time today and have to say that i don't ever plan on going back to the spring floats. But I was wondering is there a better stop then the nylon thread stops? I most likely will be wanting to be able to reel it up into the reel spool and cast.
Thanks,

Have you tried dental floss?
Years ago I used to do a bit of bluegill fishing and I used a rubber bobber stop, but I actually preferred the nylon. Look at these:

I also put a bobber stop between the bobber and jigs. So if I break off the line does not slip through the line and loose the bobber.
I use the nylon stops. For rig retention, I've been running a small barrel swivel a foot above the jig- Main line to reel+ 8-10 lb test Trilene XL- Leader to jig+ 6 lb test Sufix Elite. When the jig hangs up, bye bye jig, back to the boat comes the rig. I tried some rubber stops years ago, but as I typically end up doing some bank fishing, I didn't like the way they ran through the guides when casting long distance.
I take a piece of 12 or 14 pound test line and tie a double knot for a bobber stop. Clip off the ends and you can slid it up or down your line. Works great.
Good idea, thanks Nate
