I'm just getting out of college in a month, so you know I don't have that kind of money, Shane. :D I've been thinking about purchasing the Elite-5 DSI when it comes out next year, once I hear some reviews on it. I really want something with a built-in GPS.

Doc - Thanks very much for the info! I have the topo map of Clinton off of KansasLakeMaps.com that I used. I tried everywhere except the creek channels, maybe that's where they were at.

Troller - Sent you a PM.

They are the best tool in your boat. The maps you can put on the units of the lakes your fishing, GPS for marking your special spots or routes, fish finder, now SIDE IMAGING.... You can't learn a lake without one. What you can see in one days time as you move around a lake, will take you years with a 2D sonar. Go to my blog and look at some of the videos and images I have posted and I think you might understand. If you have any questions, let me know.

Whatever you do, don't be THAT GUY who shows up at a new lake and looks for the boat that is catching fish and then proceeds to crowd him. That is NOT an approved technique for finding fish on a new lake.
I am just pullin' your leg.:D

It never crossed my mind. I've been fishing for my whole life and know the proper fishing etiquette.

Hey IF YOU see a cream colored Lowe 16.5 with an old fat guy in it belly up to me and we can try to catch some fish. I do not care if you get next to me. There are either enough fish for both or enough talk and friendship that it does not matter. If we all share we all catch more fish.
