Default (New) Ks State Record for Crappie.....

Heard about a 23 inch crappie that was caught at Big Hill...word of mouth says it weighs 5+???? Anybody heard anything...also heard that Bass Pro and Cabela's want it and either place has 3 days to do something.

If this is true...the old record sure did stand for quite a spell...just trying to verify rumor and conjecture....

I wonder if someone is getting stories mixed up?!?!? I heard of a possible new state record white bass being caught over the weekend at Fall River. I heard it was almost 8 pounds. I could see how someone would say a "WHITE" and some people would think "WHITE CRAPPIE"! I dont know, it could be true! If it is that makes Smallmouth bass, white bass, and crappie, all broken records this spring possibly!!

I just checked with KDWP at Pratt and as of this morning, they have not heard anything on a new state record Crappie. Sometimes it takes a few days before an official application is sent to Pratt. If I hear something...will post.
The White Bass is being checked as maybe having some Wiper genetics.

The Toronto white bass was caught by a friend of a friend, if I hear anything I'll report back. If it actually turns out to be a white bass not only will the state record be smashed, but so will the world record!

It will be interesting to see if that hog comes back clean with genetics. Either way that is a great fish.
It's not duck season so I have to do something... :D
