serrated blade sharpening. Do you go to the trouble sharpening blades or do you just pitch em and buy new? If you sharpen them, any good recommendations on sharpener?

Buy new.
Dan nailed it, buy new. I buy a new one every year or two. I like the wally world black and deckers, 7.95 on sale. The other regular fish cleaning brands are okay but not 3 0r 4 times better. I keep two b and d knives for when electric is available and keep two other brands for battery use when the stations are closed. Usually wear out the b and d ones within a year or two and generally get 3 years out of the battery ones.

Holidays a coming, you can score on electric knives. Most dept. stores will have them at throw away prices for Christmas. Best "carving knife" I've ever had came from Dillards for $5.

If you are looking for a knife don't forget Academy Sports is opening a superstore flagship type in Topeka on Friday. I get to tour the store on Thursday since one of our own posters is working there supposedly it is a prototype store, the first of it's kind!!!!!!!!!!!!!
