I use a loop knot for everything. The only time I don't is when using a really small line like 2# and then it's a Palomar knot to keep the line from slipping out of the eye.
I usually attach my plastic jigs with a loop knot. Is this the best knot for hand ties?

Trilene knot mostly for trout jigs. Fixed knot forces slightly more tail action (articulation).

I use a loop knot 90% of the time and a Palomor the other 10%.
I jig with loop knots and Palomar for everything else. I use what’s easiest with my arthritic hands.
