See I'm dependent on crutches for mobility which puts excessive pressure on my palm thumb joint which at times causes it to pull out sort of separate,
I then having to push it back in with grave discomfort.
This is where the arthritis is forming causing thumb mobility and discomfort.
Soaking does give temporary relief but tying will lock up mobility of the thumb left with only the use of the next two fingers (Very Frustrating)
working on a glove brace to prevent this from happening along with an athletic Rehab person with my options if need be

    Oh Well !
The hurtles in life one has to deal with that comes with age

I hope you can come up with something that will help ease the pain and let you get to doing what you did before

    Thanks Mike

It's one of those health issues that is unforeseen til it happens.
My options are complex after tests they are :
Fusing the thumb joints and carpal tunnel surgery
Both have no guarantee due to my dependency on crutches
So at this point in my life I choose to find a lesser threat
to my hands instead of turning them into lobsters claws
I now have a wrist support glove and will work
on some better hand crutch cushions
Guess you might say it's baby steps all over again LOL

Might take a little time but hopefully I intend to get back into tying an have at it

    Thanks again Mike
