Nice bug, and I've never seen a head like that. Interesting......
I tied up some simple bugs using a tube jig head.
Materials: 1/16 & 1/32 once heads, #6 & #8 hooks, Antron yarn for body covering and rubber legs. Shown are the 1/16 once bug in brown, black, and green.

Come on Skeet, you have never seen a tube jig head? I bet you have!
Nice bugs, have seen this kind of tying on tube jig heads before and have a bunch of old one laying around some place and I should make something out them them other than the nothing they are doing now and the last 14 years or so, lol! What a waste to have these and just let them sit so I really should do something with them and think I will. Maybe you have motivated me, but we shall see if I actually do it or not, lol!

There are a lot of options for body covers; from just plane old paint, yarn, tinsel, leech yarn, dubbing noodle, braid, ultra chenille to list a few.

Yes, I've seen some similar before but not with the ridge shown in the pic. Most are round and parallel til they get to the taper. Probably wouldn't make a hoot of difference. Never did anything serious with any of them. I have some bench time slated for this weekend and have no clue where to begin. It's been quite a while. I'll post if they aren't laughable.

that ridge looks more like someone scored in with a knife or something similar. the edges look a bit sharp to me, but I have been wrrrr...wrrr...wrrr...not right before...hahaha. Super nice bugs.
