    Default Eyes?

What is the best brand of flat stick-on eyes for jig heads? And, what technique for application seems to be best? I have tried several brands and techniques and I am convinced that I need to borrow some of you guys help!

I just use some Loctite Super Glue in the bottle with little brush. I just dab a little on where I will place the eye. I pick it up with the point of my bodkin and place it down and push with blunt end of bodkin. After that and once dry I like to put a clear coat of Vinyl over the entire head including the eyes, but last strp is not really necessary after it's glued on well. It does look better with the vinyl over coat though. As far as best, I am unsure of that.

    Skip,

What vinyl do you use? I've tried a few with a clear coat nail polish and just never really like the look of them. For the ones I sell, I usually hand pant them when people ask. I throw some stick on ones on a few of mine from time to time to add some flash.

    Thanks

for the cost the 3d eyes are just as cheap. I still have some of the flat ones and on those or 3D eyes or even small doll eyes I use DUCO cement. I have never lost an eye yet using this stuff.

Vinyl is a lot different than Nail Polish. Nail polish will discolor some of the better colors like Chart and FL Yellow, but vinyl doesn't do that. I use the vinyl that CSI sells which is Pro-Tec Powder paint. So most that sell their powder may sell the vinyl. I use from a 4 Oz bottle. Grousefly paints everything he paints with vinyl paint. I have a lot of colors of it and sometimes paint my heads with it.

Actually the vinyl will hold up better than powder paint even cured! I also think it make the paint look better after it's on. SO you not only protect the eyes, but the paint will stay on longer.

I do the tiny dot of super glue under and then clear coat as well. Haven't lost one yet even with 3D eyes on rounded heads. Name: 14shadgraywhite.jpg

Vinyl is not gas drying, but it dries to touch reasonable. I don't remember the drying time, but when I use it I just let them hang for over night no matter what time of day I do them. I usually have more to do so I just let them hang until I am ready to put them in a box or a bag. Grouse fly would know a lot more than me about the vinyl, but it's for sure a tougher finish than powder paint.
Oh almost forgot you can just brush it on and it levels just fine on its own!
