Well there are so many I also do not know who makes the best! Also I am not sure I like the Extra Select more than the old regular type and at least one color in the old stuff is not available in the Extra Select.

Hareline's will be good as everything they do, they do well. Then Spirit River I am sure has some excellent stuff too. Both of these may need to be found at one of the fly tying shops, like JS Fly Fishing or Bob Marriott's or even as well as others. Like Caddis Fly shop.

There are a lot of others and I would just pick a place I know is reputable and try some!

    I like the Hairline

but a lot of people also use Darice long pile craft hair. I use to buy craft hair from Punisher but they changed where they got it from the it has a LOT of underfur in it.

My favorite craft fur is from Targus but they no longer make it. I was lucky and found some.

The select hair. Hairline, wapsi, punisher, in all those I mention have certain colors that really tie well, the fibers are just better, the extra select has 3-4 different links that shuck well, then there are other colors that just don't work well don't know if the actual color is the reason or not.

I am looking to buy some hair like they used on troll dolls. The closest I have come is the craft hair but it is not the same . Can anyone point me in the right direction? I am looking for some that is light blue like is used on jigs made by Punisher Jigs( crappie jigs) on the net. Thanks!

Actually the troll hair and I have a lot of them!LOL is nothing but craft fur, it actually feels like the Darice Craft fur. How much off is the color from the picture I posted?? Do you have a jig tied with the color your looking for?? The one light blue on the punisher site is very close to the blue I posted. Let me check all my links as a buddy gave me a place for a different brand of craft fur, but I'm going to have to find it.

Even if you go with the Arctic fox fur you'd have to find the right color dye to match it.

I don't know how to post pics but the material I am looking for is on the Punisher lure site . It is the clear-blue skirting used on their crappie jigs they have on the site. If someone could point me in the right direction I would appreciate it. Thanks!

Smooth, if you're looking for streamers there is some made that is just crazy long, over 6 inches as I remember. I tied some real good saltwater size streamers with the dun gray and white. My stuff is buried since the move but I'll try to look up the name and maker. Tried several different makers of the craft and extra select with good results all. Extra select is by far my favorite with less underfuzz to remove of add bulk. Orangutan rust makes a dandy bluegill imitation.
