I tie when I manage to find a little time when everything else is done.
How many do you guys tie a night? I do a dozen or two after work and thats enough for me where im not really enjoying it anymore, weekends are a different story.

The love for fishing is one of the best gifts you can pass along
Yep when I have a thought about a bait.
If I'm in the mood I'll do a lot. Any other time just what I need for the trip. I can do about 12 a hour give or take.
Nothing like I use to for sure, but even if I have a good many to do I don't even go into that room until 8:30 or so and that is also where my computer is so email first before otHer things. Then my day in that room ends about 2:00. I use to tie all day long. I do want to do some other tying that I have put off long enough so I may be spending more time in there! I get a little excited when I have something more new than old to do! Since I am just an old retired guy, if not fishing I am either on the computer or tying except at night I watch TV with the wife.
I'm not a fast tyer. some nights I just ty one, if I'm real productive I may do 6.
Depends on my mood! If I sit down and just want to go to my happy place, one every 6-8 min. if I'm in the creative mood a lot slower may start then not like where I'm going and take it apart. If I'm tying for an order, have all the heads done and materials cut ..using only marabou two strands of crystal flash and one color chenille, about 3-4 min's a jig. Norvise is a time saver! This time is conditional, no interruptions and she that must be obeyed knows, I'm working on an order. She doesn't understand why I love tying, she thinks I'm taking my time away from her. I'm very sure I'm the only one with this problem?

When I get into a rhythm and have stuff set out for a style I will crank out 6 usually before I switch to something else. Once I get rolling I can get a set of 6 jigs done in about 15 minutes. When I usually get the stuff out I will tie for an hour or so. In that hour I usually switch it up a couple times and can end up with 18-24 jigs. I am fairly new to tying but I have found that it takes me longer to decide what I want to tie and get everything laid out and ready to go than it does to whip out the jigs.
Depends on my tackle box! If I need more hand tied jigs then I go back to my desk! If there are times when the weather is bad and I cannot fish then I usually break out the vise to tie few. It's all fun no matter when you get time. Just don't burn yourself out!
