Most of the jigs i fish are solid color or unpainted and i never had a problem catching fish. I think its more about eye apeal of the fisherman .
Ok
I'm seeing all these great looking jigs with painted or plastic eyes.
my question is, how much difference does it really make if my jigs have eyes or not.
I'm willing to go the extra mile if it really means I will catch more fish
thanks

I am not sure if it makes any difference to the fish but it does to me. I have more confidence in a crappie jig with eyes than one without eyes. And if I have more confidence then I believe I will catch more fish. Just my two cents worth!

I don't put eyes on my jigs and they work just fine. Some people swear it makes a difference but I don't think so.
Can't say it helps, but it sure doesn't hurt.

Houston we have a winner. I honestly believe in anything but really clear water that it does not make much of a difference to the fish. That being said, I have to agree with the old saying of " A confident fisherman, fills more limits."
Just about all of the jigs I make for personal use have eyes on them just because I like the way they look better.
Hope it helps,

I feel better when I use eyes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Personally feel if it helps your confidence then you should use jigs with eyes and if not I don't think it make a huge difference, but actually don't know how much it would help or not for real! Since confidence is most important, what ever that tells you is what you should do!
Yep, it's an angler preference that instills confidence. The eyes have not made a noticeable improvement to me over non painted or eyeless jigs.
