    Default Flutter Spoons

This winter I have been having very good luck using this vertical presentation.
The lures are simple to make using a willow leaf spinner blade or a W1 or W2 ice blade.
Actually I got the idea from Ships post on making Pinman jigs. In the process one or two 1/16 holes are drilled in the blades. Solder is added for some weight. On some of the blades solder is only added to the bottom, hook end, to increase action. The blades are cleaned and given a coat of paint.
The spoons are fished scented with power bait or with minnow parts. Not only do the spoons work well on crappies but the larger versions work well on Northern's and Walleyes.Name: IMG_2500.JPG

Looks good. I do some spoon jigging after the crappie spawn is over and here usually in spots of like 30' deep +- and catch Black Bass, White Bass, Yellow Bass, Catfish and even a few crappie. I think we use 3/8 spoons just in silver.

I use something similar for the shad run here in the rivers except that I solder a gold hook directly to the blade.

These work great when trailing a jig to get down in the current.
I learned about it from this guys site.
