    Default Micro Chenilles ?

As you may know already, I am steadily scaling-down my jig sizes - -
I am at 1/48 right now, but soon will have some 1/64 oz. heads!

The very smallest chenille I have is too large for these jigs - -

Where can I get Micro sized chenille?

    Thanks in advance...

I am really not sure you need micro actually. I have use #2 on jig that small and really was just a tad fat, but looked fine. However if you early want small chenille any of the fly shops like JS have Micro Ultra chenille, but actually if I were you I would try standard first as it's pretty small and micro is tiny. bob Marriott's and JS I am sure have this as well as Barlow's Tackle has that. Maybe crazy Angler has it as well, but not sure how much. There are also some nice buggy looking ones if your interested in that I have some and will find it so I can tell you the right name.

Actually, I just found some in the bottom of one of my boxes. I bought this when I first
started tying, and forgot all about it. It is perfect, I just tied a 1/48 oz. jig with it and it
    looks great!
It is labeled Ultra Fine Sparkle Chenille and I got it from Wingaersheek Flies . . .

I only have 5 colors - - guess I need to order some more.

I see the stuff on that site, but can't tell much about the size. If you want something really buggy looking almost like dubbing get some Buggy Nymph Yarn. Crazy Angler I think may have some. I don't know who else may carry it other than Bob Marriott's and Crazy Angler, but here is a link to a picture, but it thin stuff and I like it a lot for small jigs I want a buggy look. Not sure where to find it on Crazy Angler's site.

I'm with Skip on using the #2 chenille all the way down to 1/64. Some of the bigger chenille's I wouldn't use on the smaller jigs. Using the size 0 also works great from 1/64 on down to fly sizes. Barlow also carries the Bugger Yarns, works nice on some patterns.

Really if you like tying the smaller sizes now would be a great time to began learning to work with dubbing. There are tons of dubbing to use on different tyes plus making your own.

Agree Stump, dubbing is the ultimate on small flies and jigs and it's just learning the the techniques to use it which one of the hardest things is to learn how much you need. Know that sounds silly, but it's always less than one thinks.

If I can't get Chenille in a small enough dia. for small sized jigs I use wool yarn. The yarn can be unraveled into smaller strands to fit my needs.
