Well my friend looks like you cut the tails square. Look at some of the marabou jig that this guy ties and try to duplacate them Crappie Jigs Home Page. The squaring of of the tail will give you alot less action. Go to a bait shop an watch for a few minutes the minnows swim. I wouldn't use the stems of the feathers for tying tail, only the fluff. Strip it off the stem and make it as even as possible. The color combo is good tying technic looks sound my only concern is the tail.Take a look at the jig pictures sticky at the top of this forum it is a wealth of knowlege some time a picture is worth a thousand words. But then again what do I know.

Looking at the jigs, it looks like your coming along on the paint and body pretty good.

    Now for the tails...

Let me just say this, no stems in the tail of a marabou tail, none. You need to tear off all the barbules from the stem and stack them until you have enough. Then decide how long they need to be and cut the end you just tore off the stem so then the natural ends of the feathers will show and look good and have more action by a lot.

    Short recap...
So just pull off all the feather parts from the stem, stack until enough, cut to length by cutting the end torn off the stem.

Now also at this time make sure before you start marabou tying that there is absolutely no wind blowing in that room!

Oh didn't see your last comment, they will catch fish as is, but look to improve by tying the tails better.
