Here is my favorite. It is soldered and powder painted. Tail can be Kip or rubber.

Jubs, those look great. No telling what you liable to catch on Pickwick with one of them craw daddys. Any chance a brother could get some details on tying one or buying one?

Default The Crystal Ball Jig (tm)

No skilled fly-tying here, but this is an idea I've been working on for some time. The idea is to place the weight farther back on the hook shank, causing the jig to sink horizontally rather than nose-down when paused. The fishing I did with these before our weather turned bad was very promising, and I've sent some to Gerald in S.C. for some winter testing in his warm climate.

    #1 Eagle 575 Jig Hook.
Czech crystal glass bead with the inside hole painted for a "cat's eye" effect.
Nickel plated brass weight bead - I make these jigs in 1/32, 1/16, and 1/8 oz. A 1/16 oz. jig is pictured.
Silver plated copper crimp bead - these jigs are lead-free.
Tail material is twisted white nylon twine inserted through the beads and looped around the front of the hook. Loop is secured with a drop of superglue. The nylon takes any color of soft lure dye.

The nylon tail has very good action in water, and unlike feathers it absorbs water like a mop. This adds a lot of temporary weight for casting. I'm claiming a Trademark on the name because I may eventually start a website and sell these - but I want to do a lot of test fishing and perfecting them first. A tough job, huh?

    Default Minnow Jig

    Manipulated Minnow Head Jig

    1/32nd VMC # 4 Hook
3/0 white flat wax thread body
    Fluorescent white marabou tail

These jigs are considered proto types. They were partially flattened and shaped to mimic a shad profile.
