    Default Bluegill jig catch

Me and My nephew, AW, took mom and pop out for a lesson on Bluegill fishing today. We kept 44 and one RE. Released all the females.

AW is 12 years old and caught all his fish on a jig that that he tyed (top secret pattern with no name, yet). He has the talent and the itch....

Looks like you had a great day. I bet he loved catching fish on something he made. Thanks for sharing your outing.

Led, I've never seen your picture before - and I don't mean this in any "weird" way by any means - but you are one cool looking dude . Seriously, you look like what I would think most people imagine when they think of fishers.

Looks like yall had an awesome day. Mighty nice of you turnin the ladies loose. Tell ole A Dubya to share the wealth of what's workin for him. No secrets with good jigs :D. Good for you for taking him out and gettin him started on jig tying. He'll have a hobby for life.

That middle pic cracked me up with the "No Fishing" sign in the background.

    Anyway, congrats. Thanks for sharing.

Sign him up for the next swap. Those are some big gills. What kind of line were you using? Looks like some camouflaged line in the second photo. Looks like you had a great time.I'd be smiling too if I had a day like that.

Very nice bro! Great pics. You've no doubt created a monster with your nephew. Now all he's gunna want to do is tie jigs and fish. Ha! How hot was it out there? Looks like the Bluestone has dissipated.

I don’t know who is more proud – AW or me. His rookie jigs were keeping up with me!!!

    Cadman, OKSJ, Blake – Thnx

BC – good eye, cropped the pic to catch the sign, didn’t think anyone would notice it. Think AW is hooked for life….

Don’t know if AW can handle the pressure on a swap – he’s watching me tie for #9 – think he’s worried about the numbers.

Welcome aboard. The bluestone was a none issue – don’t think they dumped a lot. I posted some pics from last week in the Bream section. I heard they were trying to be proactive and stone it before the algae took off. They did put more water in – not a lot. Surface temp is getting into the 80s. We bailed at 10:30 – air temp was probably in the low 90s.

    Thumbs up

What a great post!!! As for that "secret" jig let him keep it under wraps if he wishes . This internet is nice but we don't need to know everything. lol
