I've never used that type of jig before but it looks like something a fish would eat.
well i am now a addict to this new hobby. i started off with the good old stand by the wooly buger in basic black. so tell me what you think of it. all comments welcomed.

I think you need to sharpen your filet knife

Well as most others starting out it looks like you cut your marabou after it was tied in and it should be cut from the other end before it's tied in and then it will have the right look and help the action too. The body could be more even from front to back, but that is not to say it will not catch fish, because it probably will.
Look back at a thread from last week I think where all this was discussed at length and I think that would help.
Not bad for your first though so don't take it wrong.

Good job for your first one.Skip is right, the tips of the marabou provide the best action so tie the tips of the marabou in for the tail and after tying it in wrap your thread tightly around the marabou and trim the excess off close to the hook eye.Wrap back to the tail, tie in your hackle, then your chenille.Bring thread back to the hook eye and wrap your chenille to head, make several wraps to secure it and then wrap your hackle around the bodyto the head, usually 4-5 revolutions is plenty,a few wraps at the head to secure the hackle and then tie off. I've been tying buggers for awhile and couldn't even guess how many fish I've caught with them, great choice for your first tie..Try tying some on jig heads, they will sink better if that's what you're looking for.
Dito Jim and Skip You might want to put a split shot about 12"-18" abouve it on the line to help it sink.

thanks guys yeah i did cutt the ends as i thaught i was too long in the tail. and as for tying them on some jig head. i am planing on it i just need to find some 1/64th.
looks pretty darn good for the first attempt, but you might wanna give the check book to momma for when this really gets into your blood its gonna cost yea, just giving you the warning no for I am sure we will hear about it later. :D:D:D
A wooly bugger is a fabulous fly for trout as well as aother game fish that will eat a minnow. Leave your marabou looking natural. It gives a better visual presentation and "Undulates" much better. Good job.
Look at these videos. They may give you some ideas.
