Forgot to mention I know for a fact the top 2 teams were fishing with Bobby Garland minnow minders and slab slayers not sure what big fish was caught on as for color forgot to ask the winners but 2nd place was on black tip yellow tail also alot of reports coming in that they are seeing alot of blood in the eggs and looks like they are staging 5 to 8 feet on the drops just off the shallows think with the 80's this week could be a great weekend I mean if the teams can catch 2 and 3 pounders in 48 rainy and cold well you get the idea good luck and happy fishing

I am trying to relay most of the fishing reports as I get them but is hard to keep up with opening the bait shop submitting the grant proposal for the kids tournament and my moms not doing good. anyway another member was out last night he said they caught 60 to 70 all small 5 keepers arond 1 lb 1-5 feet females are still out deeper "this weekend should be a good time"

thanks bec actually my mom is doing better it was a big scare they did a lot of tests and she is clean no cancer just has a bladder infection so that is great news but she was worried and i had to take her to 3 of her appointments cause she was so weak and worried i needed to be there for her anyway thanks again and look forward to meeting you face to face

Well Bad news we just lost the Coralville Tournament Brett said there was no interest and he just doesnt have the time to put in so unless we can find someone else to manage a tournament over there it just isnt going to happen so if there is anyone over that way that would like to pick up the ball and run with it get in touch with me and We will see what we can do to save it.

getting real mixed reports right now water is muddy from the rain go to darker colors other than that slow and one of my regulars said all the keepers he caught last night were female no eggs

Well the RED ROCK Tournament is done and 8 teams showed up there was some nice weigh ins as for Rathbun been slow but starting to get reports of them coming in for the spawn we will see anyway The Lake Rathbun Crappie Clubs Next Tournament is May 27 this should be a good one hope to get 15 teams or more and we have a 12 foot esp jigging pole ($104 retail value) to raffle off and a Free Nights stay at Honey creek resort($100 value) and a few other things that have come in everyone that enters will get one raffle ticket and you can buy more if you want to $1 each $5 for 6 or $10 for 12 anyway if you are interested in joining us we would love to have you and if you have any questions as always you can visit our site at Home - Lake Rathbun Crappie Club or call me at 641-895-4911 happy fishing Frank

We Are hoping to go over 15 teams for this one being Monday is a holiday and The Crappie Masters Tournament is just 6 Days later this will be a great way to Gear up and get in some Pre Fishing with a little Freindly Competition and Fun thrown in.
We Have an ESP 12ft Jigging pole from Norseman ( Right Here In Iowa) and a 1 Night Stay at Honey Creek Resort to Raffle Off and a few other things everyone entered will get 1 raffle ticket and you can buy extras if you want too! All money from the raffle goes into the club accout.
