    Default Missisenewa on Friday

What areas of the lake do most of you fish? I went yesterday and only caught four fish....all about 10 inches in 20 FOW about 10ft down on minnows. Iwas fishing just below bridge. It was my first time there and just wondered if alot of you fished more on the lake or farther downstream??? Also do you think it will be worth the drive again tomorrow on Sunday or will it be to muddy and high? Thanks for any info. Chris

Chris, just go into any of the coves, find some stickups or rocky points, and fish minnows under a bobber about two feet in 6 to 8 feet of water. I have been hammering them in the coves at this depth.

Chris, Jim is right. You need to look in the various coves and there are a lot of them on the lake. I don't have a boat so i do all my fishing there from the bank and still do ok, i fish very close to red bridge 90 percent of the time. I have been catching all my fish anywhere from 1-3 feet deep using minnows and a slip float. Look for any type of submerged structure, especially along the banks, and you will find fish. I fished there on thursday and we got 13, lost 3 others right at the bank. The bite did not get going for me until late afternoon when the wind laid down. To check lake levels, go to this site here Louisville District Daily Lake Report As of today it don't look too bad, but i check it everyday before i plan to fish there, 737 is normal summer pool. I fished it a few weeks back and it was 743 and a complete waste of my time.

I've always done pretty well down at the spillway below the dam. There's not always huge slabs there but we always get some nice keepers. it can get crowded at times but just go elbow your way in and make friends! (waders are a plus when the waters high) Also, When the water is high is when some fo the best fishing goes on down there. A LOT of fish come through that dam when they open it up and they ususally make there way into that little cove to rest since they can get pretty beat up coming through.

Stumps and coves here! Been catching them in the coves as well as the sticks and stumps out in the middle. Took 30 home between me and 1 other guy, coulda done better if we would have stayed in the first cove we tried and not tried for the greener grass on the other side of the fence... LOL

Caught a 17 incher last week on friday fishing stumps, but could only find the dinks in the same spot this week.

I have thoughts of going tomorrow myself. I'd just wait and check that link tomorrow morning regarding the lake level and then use your best judgement. It was 2.5 feet above pool today, that's not too bad. A few weeks back i fished it at 6 feet above pool and it was a waste of time for me. Very high, muddy, and scattered debris floating on the surface. There were boats out that day however.
