Chris, trolling off the banks 10 to 20 feet of water. Jig about 5 to 8 feet down I kept changing trolling speed. I also threw at any down wood or tree limbs when possible had luck with that also.

I was at the battlegrounds a few days ago and had to wade to the other side of the river to get on any fish. once there (I started at the 2nd waterfall) I waded down the bank fishing as I went and got on 6 good crappie and a striper. It took me all in all about 2 or 2 1/2 hrs to go down and back. I would be real careful out there tho, that current is tough and the rocks are slick!! There were people bobber fishing off the bank when I got there but I just didn't feel that the fish were on that side. I knew I was right when the first two I caught were 11" maybe a little more. I wasn't keeping anything so no pics..

The nice crappie are getting harder to come by from my bank spot at Mississinewa. I went over on Monday night and we got 3 or 4 of decent size and then that nasty storm came up on us out of nowhere and started blowing trees down everywhere. Glad we got out of that mess ok. Felt bad for the bass boat that couldn't make it back in time and had to wait it out in the cove. We went back the next day and picked up 2 right away, and then it was very tough after that. Ended up with 5 keepers, and 4 or 5 nice bluegill and 1 striper. The size of the crappie are way down, getting a lot of dinks all the sudden and not near as many hits. Probably not worth wasting any more gas money for me, unless they pick back up. Otherwise i will probably try it again there this fall.
