    Default Patoka Today

Since I was sitting around and it's been raining past 24 hrs, I drove down to scope out Patoka. Painter Creek was greenish muddy stained as far as I could see towards main lake. Walls was so muddy you needed a chain saw to cut thru the thick stuff. Osborn was very muddy and driving the causeway of 145, it was the same as Osborne as far as I could see in the main lake past State Park Launch with binoculars. It was then a total downpour and so I drove home in the constant rain as I know Lick Fork is all heavily muddled to as it gets that way every time we have a hard rain. They had 8" last week and getting a lot of hard rain today. This weather sucks.

Heck, all I have to do is go either way down my hill 500 yds and launch into Indian Creek and in a couple of miles in the East Fork of the White which is now out also and rising. It's still racing hard and another clipper coming in from the north over nite with more rain tomorrow. Cat is up now 25 ft above summer pool, Monroe up 4. Patoka up almost 3 and everything muddy and rising. Going to be a while before it stabilizes. Might have to catfish. Only one road in after tonite from my house as all county roads will be flooded and now hwy 450 at Williams Dam is covered by water and prediction is 3.5 more ft to rise there not including any more rain we are now getting. This sucks.

I have nothing against whisker critters... Especially with beer and hot sauce. It's rained here for 2 1/2 days straight, and still pouring. Not looking good for the foreseeable future.

It just quit raining here, but another clipper coming down from the north with more rain thru tomorrow. I have never waxed a Jon boat before. Thinking about going out to,garage and waxing it. Wind gusts also today to 30 mph. I could fly a kite maybe.

On the bright side if you didn't have any property damage count your blessings. I did 10 hours of pump outs Saturday and 8.5 Sunday last week then my work started Monday. Lots of individual property loss, crop loss, and infrastructure loss.

Most of the farmers around me are going to have to replant.
