DNR now does virtually no maintanenous on any boat boat ramps on the rivers. They just built a new one on East Fork of White near Medora and once built, they walk away from it and they are all muddied in, same for parking lots, no trash barrels any more either. It's a mess till the public uses it and packs all the mud away. Maybe everybody calling your posted, phone number will accomplish something, but I bet they only clean it once a spring time now.

Dora ramp at Salamonie did the same thing. I spoke directly with the property manager and they have to put project like that out for bid. 2 years later they had a contractor out digging out all the mud (50 dump truck loads later). They had to coordinate with the Army Corp to lower the lakes level below winter pool to give more room to work. It helped but due to poor planning at the construction stage of the reservoir the built the ramp next to a creek. Now it is silting back in.

I cannot see how INDOT has anything to do with Army Corp property. The DNR just leases the property from the Army Corp. You are probably right about INDOT it doesnt make sense to me thats all.

I saw a young dude in a DNR pickup truck yesterday with a gas powered pump in the truck pumping water out of the East Fork of the White River at the boat launch above the dam at Williams washing the boat ramp off with a fire hose finally for the first time in years. The only thing that entered my mind was how dumb DNR was as the river is rising and going to muddy it all over again. Stupid is, stupid does as he spent about 4 hrs washing everything down with the friggin river rising.

Hey, no trash in the river. Just a heck of a lot of turkey and pig poo that they spread on all the fields around and along it and when it rains, well, you know where it ends up.
