    Default ice fishing

I have an auger, handful of icefishing jigs, bucket full of rods and a free day tomorrow. I haven't been ice fishing in years.last time I went was to salamonie. Anybody want to point me towards a good lake?

Went ahead and fished salamonie. Caught a few. It was a tough bite for sure, but at least I caught some crappie in 2015

Well if you are in the Anderson area. I would suggest Summit Lake. With its elevation it freezes over pretty good. Prairie Creek is another alternative. But if you are willing to make the drive to Salamonie, you might want to check out the Huntington Reservoir property. There is a lake on it that the locals call the "Simpson Pond" but I think the real name is Wa-Shin-Ga, or something like that. Havent been there in a few years, but it was a nice lake to fish.

It was a pretty good lake back when I lived in Warren. It doesn't receive that much fishing pressure in the summer do to the fact that no motorized vehicles are allowed past the parking lot. Couple that with the fact that it is a hike to get back there. I always did pretty good close to the goose nests, off the point, and around the island.
