    Default 12-3 Crappie

Buddy (Lee) and I managed to catch 55 crappie on a trip last week while enjoying some of the last of the nice weather. Water temp 39 degrees and light stain. Fish came out of 20'-23' of water on 1/16 and 1/8-oz jigs, mostly chartreuse colors of some sort. Attached a few pics of some of the better fish below. All fish released and still swimming. Looking like this weekend stretch might be the last of the ice free trips from Indy north for a while.

LOL - yeah, I figured your holes already get enough pressure as it is. No sense in adding more boats on your favorite lake and spots if someone doesn't already know them. Thought that's what we all agreed upon in that last big thread - no names, just general report and pattern

Nice fish. Looks like you had an enjoyable trip. You might just be right about the ice free water. Hope not.

Those are some nice fish, thanks for the report! Superior looks as calm as I've ever seen her....you can see for miles and miles! LOL

We might get lucky in southern IN. The forecast is looking good enough for the next couple weeks.

    Awesome report and beautiful fish.
Taking a kid fishing makes the world a better place one memory at a time.

LOL - That location stems from a comment a friend made to me once about my living out in Gxx Dxxx Bug Tussle, Indiana, an obvious joke about living out in the country away from everything. I liked it, so I use it every now and then on forums

There actually is a Bug Tussle in OK, TX, AL, and KY, and there was once a Beverly Hillbillies episode called, "The Mayor of Bug Tussle."

I know none of that helps you out with the lake these fish came from, but you at least know the story behind it now I'm actually only an hour or less from a dozen decent crappie lakes, and have been known to drive further for a big fish bite on occasion, so actual location wouldn't help too much. The pattern should be good though on many waters right now.
