Thread: It Happened Again at the Cat

As you recall from my last story about the "Cataract Bullies." (The three guys who show up at the Big Cat and walk away with all of our lunch money.) I want you to know that it happened again today at our Thursday morning tournament. Big Randy, bro Gary and the little beady-eyed leader, Big Mean Dave, went out onto the lake and put the hammer on all of us again. They had 4.43lbs. After the last few months of this, I thought that these guys were just taking advantage of us smaller, feeble fisherman. Today I have a whole new outlook on these three fellows. Today I stopped and studied them and found some very important things about what makes these guys tick. The number one thing is: They all love to fish. Each will jump at the chance to be on the water. The number 2 thing that makes them good is their dedication to the sport of crappie fishing. They think like a crappie. I believe they just know what to do under any condition.

I have tried for the last 2 seasons to beat these fishing animals at their own game, and have come to the conclusion that it is very unlikely to happen. So I think I will join them. Now you may ask how are you going to get into their boat, when there is a three man limit per team. Well I am not going to fish with them. What they need is a manager. And I, BigArm, want to be that manager. I can put their names out all over the country. I can make them household names. When you think crappie fishing you will think Randy, Gary and Dave. We can have shirts, hats, a full clothing line. They will be on radio, tv and there will be movie deals for the Big Screen. Yes towns all over the US will rename Main St…..”RGD Boulevard.”

The first thing that will have to happen is this dynamic trio will have to go on tour. I will have to look at the talking circuit schedule and see where I can get them in. It won’t be easy and each one of them will have to put in a little time. I think I will start having them tour on the first and third Thursdays of each month. I know this will interfere with fishing in our Thursday morning tournament, but that is the price you have to pay to be famous. This way, while you guys are out talking and promoting fishing, us smaller and feeble fisherman will at least have a chance to save our lunch money.
