Everyone should do this!!!
For those that haven't seen it yet, IDNR is proposing a 9" size limit on crappie for both Dogwood and Hardy Lakes. There are also several other fishing items to comment on, including a possible 25 fish limit on all sunfish, similar to crappie right now. They are accepting comments either in support of or opposed from now through Feb. 28. Go to the following link to make sure your input is heard: http://www.in.gov/dnr/fishwild/7373.htm
Once there, click on the PDF link for "DNR, Division of Fish & WIldlife Issues" to read all proposals. You will then need to register by creating a username and password (just like Crappie.com forums) in order to comment online.
This is your chance to express your opinion one way or the other and be part of the process to possibly change fishing regs in the state this go-round.

Everyone should do this!!!
Thanks
I just went, registered and found the only proposal being listed was discussing the possibility of "baiting" deer while hunting. I did read the "proposals", and while you are correct, there are quite a few, no input is possible on the topic it appears at this time.
Thanks T9..
I was already registered but I had no idea this was available.
I put in my two cents.....
Thanks again..

I think Hardy and Dogwood would benefit BIG TIME if this rule were put in place. This is how trophy lakes that are known for slab crappie do it. You need to harvest older, mature crappie instead of two year old fish that are eight inches long.
Here in Indiana, this is one reason why our whitetail hunting is becoming so much better. You're hearing about more trophy size deer being killed each season because hunters are passing on those two and three year old deer, allowing them to grow into mature bucks. I think fishing is basically the same way, of course I'm sure there's some differences depending on lake size etc.
thanks for the heads up 9er.
deer hunting better? not in this part of the state. they dropped the extra doe limit because numbers were down. check station people said numbers checked in were down this year. probably have to drop it again next season.

Thanks for posting this Team 9 I have posted a few thoughts on crappie and walleye stocking. In Illinois they have different bag limits for different lakes and I think Mississippi is even limiting the number of poles on certain lakes. I also think we fisherman could police ourselves some as to what goes in the skillet. I have no problem with harvesting the resources but don't like waste.
