    Default Glendale

Heading to Glendale tomorrow morning to attempt to fish for crappie. Be the first time I go out specifically for crappie so does anyone mind sharing some good areas to try. I have a contour map of the lake so going to try some areas that look promising based on the map.

If I don't have any luck with Crappie, I'll just go by the dam and fish for channels.

I don't know your lake but can share what works were I fish. Some fish have been found around structure in 10+ FOW. he best results have been in the 15' to 20' with fish from near bottom up to about 5 FOW. The suspended fish are at drop-offs and along areas that drop gradually from 15 FOW to the creek bed that is 35' deep. Also I have boated the most fish trolling plain minnows along the drop-offs. Both numbers and size are best along the drop-offs. The fish are generally not hitting hard even while trolling. When I see some motion on the pole, I kill or slow the troll to allow the fish to fully take the bait and set the hook. Then back to speed before the rest of my bait has time to get to the bottom. 2"-3" minnows have been working for me. I have been trying my best to get the jig fishing figured out without any luck. I bought a few more jig baits for my next outing. When you find fish don't spend much time in that spot if the fish don't continue to bite. Keep moving and return to the spot a little later, that has worked for me lately. Good luck and let us know how you do.
Keep them poles bent and the boat right side up! LOL
