That's cool. I've never tried pulling cranks, but always thought it would be fun. I'm sure it gives you the opportunity to keep an eye on the fish finder and find some new spots while covering lots of water.

There is definitely a time and a place for cranks. I think every crappie fisherman should have 6 or 8 in there tackle box. I just hate it when gills hit them, they almost always get there mouth hooked shut by all three hooks on the back treble. You end up haven to clean quite a few small gills after you wreck there mouth tryen to un hook them.

We been cranking bandits off and on all summer found a few new spots and learning more and more every trip this last trip they were some of the biggest fish so far this year

What size bandits are you using, and how deep do they run. Have you had much luck with any other brands? Ive never pulled cranks for crappie, but i have flatlined them for salmon and walleye. Any tips would be much appreciated.

Threres a sticky in the Mississippi thread full of information about cranking for crappie. Most guys use 300s.
