Been finding crappies in deeper water near trees. Locate them with your locator then count down until you find them. Vertical jigging works real well now too. Check out the grass edges on the main lake and fingers.
I am heading to fish Patoka for the first time this Thursday thru Saturday, and could use some general advice on what part of the lake to start on depths, or any other advice you might have. I typically spider rig, but will single pole jig if conditions dictate that I do so. Not looking for anyone's honey hole just want to get in the right ball park. Thanks in advance.

Always had good luck single pole jigging around trees out of Osborne ramp, straight across from ramp a little to left is a old road bed. Good luck to ya
I can not offer anything as far as the fishing, but if it were me, I'd get a map or study Google earth, and pick a ramp and fish an area of the lake that is wooded, and has a speed limit, to avoid the crazies that take over that lake.
