I kinda thought Hide Tide was talking about me. Here what happened. We thought we had 7 fish in weigh in but there was 8. So we got DQ ed. We thought we had enough to be in the money. But didn't matter. So got back to the boat threw smallest back in live well had enough weight to finish in second with over 6.5 lbs. So lesson learned count your fish 3 times or so. And now I have changed my weigh in cooler to 48 quart so can see for sure in water. I remember another team did that same thing last year I think and they would have been in the money.
Wasn't referring to you at all, was commenting on people measuring fish with the mouth open and counting the inches on the tape.
But for the record, mistakes happen, but it's a bummer you were in contention for some $$ no doubt!
i was referring to a bass tounney the big one ate one of the smaller ones in the livewell. had the whole tail sticking out of its mouth, believe it or not thats your choice, i will keep my comments to myself and quit posting on here, nice to have known you all.... good nite

A very good post Doug on the proper technique for measuring fish that is the legal way. However I would like to point out something when it comes to doing something online using pictures. I have found it very difficult when I am by myself to get the fish to pose for an accurate photo while alive! Not only do they keep their mouth open but they want to constantly flop around!

Yeah, what he said! LOL No offense, but this is the Internet, and all types log on and post truth and stories. You can't expect that everybody will believe you, unless you have the pics to prove it. Just the nature of the beast... However, it's quite nice when folks are skeptical, and you bust the proof on them! So hopefully you don't quit posting, but do learn to post pics with you phone, or you can take the stance "if the only knew...".
guess i never realy thought about it. like rico i usually take measuring pics myself and just lay them there. you have a valid point! nothing at stake in that contest, so its not that tightly regulated i guess. would it make a difference in your participation in the contest high tide? the more the merrier, ya know.
i would think that stuffing fish in a tourney wouldnt be allowed. even if the fish stuffs itself. seriously! i dont fish tourneys, but it dont sound legal.
