Default Best chainsaw for mushroom harvesting

OK...this is a crappie board...but things are kinda slow right now with the weather conditions. Only the brave like cevans venture out. Anyhow, I have temporarily diverted my attention to doing a little mushroom hunting. I was wondering what kind of chainsaw works best IYO. I am currently using stihl with a 20 inch bar.

you keep finding them like that, you can leave the saw at home, i'll bring an axe...much better for the environment, cheaper on gas.
Heck i'll carry the axe, the sack of mushrooms and you out of the woods for a mess of those.

Have found countless snakeheads this years(over 25lbs actually) but only a handful of sponge, and nothing close to that beauty.

We have found them like that all season. It has been a good year for fungus. Sometimes we find doubles or triples like that. Its hard to miss them even for someone like me.

    Default heavy duty

Personally I've been using a CASE 580M II loader with a 24" bucket.. I'll have to upgrade to a CAT 420E 28" bucket and heavy duty hydro.

HHD, you must be losing some eyesight. You seems to only be able to find the big crappies and big mushrooms...I hope my eye's fail me sooner than later!

Man, I hear ya crappie pop. You may want to upgrade that to a komatsu loader with the cummins designed engine. Biggest problem we have now is that they are popping up...right thru the county road pavement down here. Have to call in the road grader to shove them out of the way so people can get to work...not to mention calling in the hot mix crew to patch the divot that is left behind.

Hey eky...that one mushroom looks like it could be a 5 pounder all by itself !!

FF, I find my mushrooms just like my crappie...stumble into them accidentally. I am thinking of drying the next one and making a walking cane out of it.
