going to go down in 2 weeks for a few days. never fished the lake does anyone have and areas or tips that would care to share
I usually launch out of "Sailboat Harbor" along Rte 154. If the wind is out of the north, I'll fish
the south side of 154 working my way to the first bridge. If the bridge is not too crowded, I'll
stay and fish the creek/river channel that runs through the east side of the bridge. Stay away if
it's crowded, those guys get pretty possessive about their spots. I will work both sides of Rte 154
about 20ft off the bank, looking for depths of 14-18fow. Locate the crappie and set up 11-13ft rods
with a 3/16oz jighead in pink or orange (Get them at Lake Zone Tackle) and a Lake Fork plastic
minnow. Supposedly there are brush piles in 15-20fow located where light and power poles run along
the highway. Another good spot is up north at Ina, but beware this area is full of stumps and can be
dangerous if the water level is down. Trust your electronics and do your due diligence with a paper
map before you get out on the water. South Jackie Branch can be good if the wind is strong out of
the south or southwest. Just out of the launch area the points out of this site are loaded with brush
piles in water that is about 10ft deep. When I went past a few ago, the water was very high and very
muddy. I'm sure fishing will be tough but doable! Enjoy and post your report!
