Always great to get a new rig out. Congrats and enjoyPut new boat in today for its maiden voyage. We always use the west access and was surprised to see ice all around ramp was a good 250 ft to open channel ice was thin so we launched and worked our way to the open water ice was maybe 1/4 inch thick in the worst spots. Water at launch 35 degrees water up by bridge by plant discharge 56 degrees. I few boats were working bank by bridge not sure how they were doing. We tried Y cove, houseboat cove, and route 10 cove all we could muster was one small bluegill. Talked to a few guys nobody was doing great one guy picked up a few working the bank on the south side of houseboat. Main reason for coming down was to break in motor on new boat and that part of trip was successful. Great to get out first time this year good luck to all. West Access was all clear of ice by end of day.
