If you are single poling with a jig or 2, the best is the uncle bucks ultra lite.

There are many great rods out there but it depends on how you want fish. I like my Southern Crappie Rods. 12 footers with power pro braided line. That is just what I like.
Lets go soak a line. Pat

Ain't no such thing .... there's so many different methods that one rod just can't be expected to handle them all, at least not very effectively, anyway. Narrow down your question to one particular method of fishing, and then we can discuss the matter. Even then you're going to get half a dozen different brands, lengths, power (because most people believe what they're using is the "best").

I have no complaints on my southern crappie or b/m psts. If you are not trolling get the Southern's.

B n M 11 foot gig rod would be my choice, with Bass Pro Crappie Reel and Power Pro 15 lb braid. The way to go.

I would pick a 6.5 ft medium Ugly Stick spinning rod. It will cast lures, bobber rigs, and good for dipping minnows right beside the boat (or as one beloved member calls it... vertical casting ). It is strong and plenty sensitive enough.

I do a lot of bobber fishing and vertical jigging. I have a 10 B&M right now but looking too buy a new rod and wanted to see what everybody likes. I have to say i like the B&M but the insert in the tip kept coming out in the tip so i tried to get warranty and they just sent me a replacement tip that wouldn't fit.
