Hit the water at 10 it was cold 115 motor would not start the. The 9.9 kicker would not start finally got that going after 20 minutes. Trolling motor was froze could not turn prop by hand. I drove to first spot with kickermotor and troller
in water eventually all started. My fish partner got a crappie on first cast like he usually does on new water. The first cast and jinxed is again. I evenally got two the bigest was 11". All three on plastics under bobber. There was a shad invasion two other boats were spider rigging deeper 8 foot. We were casting bank. Got a few gills a white bass and a largemouth too. Fished five hours. Air temp was about 15

Congrads on a day of fishing you guys are troopers to be out there with the weather. Have done it in the past but our biggest problem was ice in the eyes of the rods had to be cleaned out every cast. If I didn't live 2 hrs away might give it a try but like the cold less and less as I get older so will probably wait for some warmer days. Winter is boring this time of year no golf or fishing good luck. What was the water temp?

Warmest water I found was 53. There was ice at water by ramp. Ice in guides was not bad as other times I have bee out I would dunk rod tip every once in a while and that took care of it. They shut down the coal plant in river by me that was 29 minutes away now I have to drive for winter fish.
