I see a trip to Egypt in my near future. What's the water temp. By the discharge and mid make?

The only thing I will say is don't get completely hung up on fishing the discharge water. If it concentrated every fish and set them to biting nearly every day their wouldn't be many left to catch the rest of the year. And that is definitely not the case. Egypt follows the other lakes pretty close in standard timing and fish behaviour.

Now...I just hung that out there. Not to argue the point or discourage you from fishing the discharge, not at all. Or to say that their are not guys who fish there everyday in the winter and catch two hundred fish a day. Somebody will probably say they do.

If I remember right 45° at macs marina. 56° by plant. 48° by first island. 44° by second island.
It was pretty down their, had bout 3' +/- for clarity.
I really need to force myself to learn offshore fishing.
The drive wasn't bad, mostly all interstate.

Most fish coming off the points in north end of the lake. Find brush on the deeper ends of the points and fish above them, then work shallower if needed. Today's wind switch will move them around, but some were still being caught on the east side and in Elks cove. Tomorrow try the points on the west side nearer the discharge. You can always find them on the shore he wind has been blowing into for couple of days. Lots of smaller fish, but some slabs were showing up. Find the cover and fish it. Hope this helps.

I'll add that as we approach spring and the weeds and weed edges become more defined. It will concentrate fish better and so will any point that the wind is blowing into. There are certain colors jigs that will garner more bites. There are some hogs in there. When i fished tournament last year a 2.38# was weighed in. Just use tactics targeting black crappie and you should do good.

I found the color thing out first hand last week. I know a good amount of fishermen, some very good that say color doesn't matter put it in front of a hungry crappie and it will eat it... I would have to disagree!
