What do they do on that dock in the middle? Swim! There are cables all around it. Wow! You can use them now!! Sounds like hell will freeze over before they do anything!! Oh, it is!!
My question and answer to Site Superintendent,
My question is, "why can't we have a dock at the boat ramp"?
We all have seen how the fluctuating water level can destroy a dock but there must be a solution ( i.e. remove when flooding occurs).
It looks like this time of the year is a good time to repair or replace the dock that is broke.
Also are you planning on removing the unsightly dock that is setting in the middle of the cove?
His responce,
Thank you for your inquiry. The answer is "you can have a dock at Eagle Creek". Now, I know what you are thinking - you have heard that before! I understand your frustration and I want you to know that I share in your frustration. This has indeed been four years. I have been told that this problem will get taken care of this year, but I will be honest, I have been told that before.
I am pushing as hard as I can, and I want you to know that I remain committed to doing so. Please know that your concern is my concern. Replacing the walkway to the dock is a project that has been in the works since the new walkway failed so soon after being installed. This will remain a top priority until the job is completed.
As far as the dock in the middle cove, we will be addressing it this spring/summer. We've had a lot of feedback on this. A lot of boaters/fisherman like it out there. It certainly isn't useable as is, though so we will be either pulling permanently or pulling and restoring it to a functional condition.
Thank you again for your inquiry, your concern and your commitment to Eagle Creek. I promise you that I will not stop pushing on this project.

Some people can do know right...keep trying!!
By the way we can't have a dock up there that might cost 1000 bones to make. We got a 10 million dollar visitor center!!! They care! Oh and heated bathrooms!! Now that's what we needed with the old out house still there.....huh! Amazing. I wouldn't believe a durn thing they say! Eagle creek sucks to launch at! On top of that, the cpo is a regular there! Not that it matters but I just don't have time for haggling unless its necessary!! Wheewwwweeee!

This is good news. Thanks eagleeye for looking into this. Hopefully it gets fixed. I really like using the ramp.
Heck fire if they need manpower, I would and know others would volunteer to help out. Friends of Lake Shelbyville sould have funds for the project too.
Lets go soak a line. Pat
Funds. It can't be a matter of funds.Have you seen the dock at wolf creek?I would like to know what the cost of that dock was.
we have a new group of 50 guys I will add it to the information meeting for the club. Someone has to know a way we can get this done in a quick fashion.
get Rosenthal to launch his boat there a few times and we will have a new dock
The cost of the dock is stupid! They have union carpenters build everything. On top of that they have to zone it and jump thru a bunch of hoops. I was approached by a guy about how to improve 9th street ramp. I told him to move the light across the road where it done some good! He went on a spree of how much money it would cost! Just to move a light 100 feet. It never happened. They built a dang bathroom!
