Default Motor repair - Fairview Heights

I have merc 4-stroke that is not running right. Has anyone had any experience with Cope Marine, or can someone recommend someone in the area? Thanks

Bought my Yammie 50 four stroke from them, and a buddy when back up and bought his HUGE motor from them. Pretty easy to get along with and from my experience they do very good work. I don't know why anyone would not recommend them. Fair, honest, and you get what you pay for. That's been my experience, anyway.

Nameoki gets my business, won't go to cope unless I have to. Had an engine rebuilt their, it went back seven times before it ran properly. To make it worse they tried to make us pay before releasing the boat the seventh time. They where told to keep it, we'll se you in court! We didn't pay! imagine that.
Nameoki has saved me some money. I once took a handful of parts in their, mechanic looked at them, and was within one year, dead on for make/horsepower.

Have dealt with them since 2001, when I bought my boat. They are pricey, but they get they have always gotten the job done. Granted I've never had a problem with the way the motor ran or performed. Good luck.

Clark Boat & Motor in East Alton is the best for outboard repair. Lynn, who runs the place, has repaired and raced boats since he was a kid.

Dupo Marine in Dupo, IL. gets my vote. The two head mechanics from Nameoki quit; started there own business. I have not dealt with the other ones mentioned

Cropy I tend to be tight with my money and I run older equipment - 1995 Evinrude on my bass boat and a '69 merc on my duck boat. I take my motors to Ken's Boat and Motors on the east side of 255 near Dupo. When I went to the dealers, I tend to be charged more to diagnose the problem than Ken charges to fix it. I suggest you call all the dealers referenced in the threads and then Ken's. Ask for a simple procedure - change the water pump impeller for instance and see what the cost differencs are. Depending on what you need done, you might save a couple hundred bucks. If you do do this, let us all know the price differences. In this economy, everyone can benefit in the savings.

Namioki Village. Go to the parts counter and ask for Jay. Tell him his undertaker buddy from Highland said to treat you right.

I've had good luck with Sowell outboard right outside of Horseshoe Lake Park on 111.
