    Default Keel guard?

Do most of you have a Keel guard on the front of your boat and how easy is it to install, keep in mind I'm no handy man. What do yall recommend? Thanks for any advice.

I don't have one on my aluminum boat (I don't think they will adhere to aluminum, but I could be wrong). Hardest part of installing would be to raise the boat up off of the trailer to get between the trailer rollers. You might search the mechanics forum to see if there is a thread about them. Seems like I read something on here about them.

Dad and I installed ours on our boat. Not hard, but lots easier with two people. Let dry for a couple days and go fishin. park the boat on the ramp or rocks or coal shaft without blinkin..

I installed mine on my boat by myself. Not to hard at all. Make sure you have some good painters tape to hold it in place so you can mark the hull before you sand your boat. There are a few good videos on youtube that will help you out.

That was one of the first things I installed on my triton. It comes with a disk I believe. I also watched the YouTube videos. Figuring out the exact placement was the hardest part. It is well worth the money. I saw a lot of expensive bass boats drive up on the eagle creek ramp when the docks were broke.

Also should install in warm environment. done mine by myself on a 98 degree day. would have been a lot easier with 2 people. when it sticks, it's stuck. no room for error. a must have on glass boats

I have a Hamby's on my Ranger. Worth its weight in gold. If your installing by yourself; you can make a "V" wedge out of wood and take a rope from motor over the top of boat to the front hook it to the wood with eyelets and trim motor down to add pressure to the keel guard to ensure a tight fit.

It is easier than it sounds
