If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles.

Thanks everyone! We had a great time down there last week! We spent a lot of hours pre fishing the 3 different lakes available to fish during the tournament. We decided to move away from our original game plan of hitting the main river channel hard when we got down Saturday and heard the forecast of 3 - 5 inches of rain on the way locally and more to continue north up the river. We decided to focus on "old river runs" where current, water quality, and boat control would be less of an issue. It turned out that the river didn't raise and run as much as we expected. Tournament quality fish were hard to find in good numbers so instead of having 2 or 3 areas to rely on we were basically limited to about a 1/2 mile stretch that was holding good numbers of quality fish. With the pressure we put on it during day 1 and the 30 degree temperature drop, rain, and 30 mph winds on day 2, it made for some tough fishing on the second day! We started to pick up good quality fish again in that area from about 12:30 on but with a 2:00 quit time on day 2 we ran out of time! We definitely wanted a win but we're proud to finish in the top 3 again this year against the best crappie fishermen out there! We're gonna keep working hard and hopefully one of these days we can get a win at the National Championship! Thanks again for all the kind words on here, emails, and comments on Facebook. Rodney and I really appreciate it!

Congrats. It's one thing to catch'em at home but quite another to do good on the road.
