I know Gun Creek is free.
I'm planning on fishing Rend next Friday I've never been, were is a good free boat ramp on the southeAst arm. Do I have to buy a lake pass I thought I read somewhere that since it was a corp lake you had to buy a pass. What is the fishing like? Thanks for any help. We will be coming down from the north.

All STATE PARK ramps are no fee. Think on Rend only one state park but there are a couple of different ramp besides the one at the resort.
Gun Creek ramp off of IL 154 is where you need to launch. It is in the area where you are talking about. It is actually ran by the conservancy district. Nice ramp and very big and easy to get to.

CX you mean the Gun Creek on the North side of 154. The golf course is also called Gun Creek and it is a COE pay ramp. I will put the ones I can think of right now. The only free ones I can think of not way up in the stumps are Gun North, Sail Boat, and the 4 ramps in the Resort cove. Pay ramps are North and South Marcum, North and South Sandusky, Dam West, Gun Creek South, and Ina. I cant remember if Jackie Branch is pay or not but I want to say it is.
Jackie Branch is now a COE pay ramp after the amenities they spruced up.
Fished yesterday and caught a few off brush piles in 8-10 feet of water on jigs. Mean Green that is the ramp I am talking about. The golf course ramp is a corp ramp and there is a fee. And I didnt know Jackie was a pay ramp. Since when did that happen. The last time I used it, it was not a pay ramp. Also the Turnip Patch ramp is a pay ramp. Stupid Corp. Its all about the money. Thats why I try not to camp at the Corp camp grounds.
